Position - Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer Location - Feltham Reporting to - Technical Manager Desired Experience & or Qualifications • Technically qualified as an electrical engineer (City & Guilds, HNC etc) • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations • HVAP 15 Would be advantageous • Critical Services Experience • Previous building services experience (PPM & reactive) Typical Duties Our client is currently seeking electrically biased engineers to work a static site the Feltham area. Working on behalf of an international Facilities Management provider, you will work within a team of engineers to provide critical maintenance to the site’s M&E services to ensure 100% uptime of services in order to eliminate any impact to the client. The role will undertake and oversee maintenance to M&E systems including (but not limited to) generators, UPS, BMS, AHU’s, transformers, CRAC units and chillers to ensure all environmental conditions are maintained at all times with regard to critical building systems. The role will operate on a continental shift pattern working 12 hour days/nights. •Maintaining and keeping in good repair, the buildings mechanical & electrical systems along with all associated component parts of Data Centre Premises. •To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works to all mechanical and electrical systems within the site. You will need to demonstrate relevant knowledge of UPS, Generators, HV, PDU’s, CRAC units or equivalent. •Routine tests, checks and record keeping for all the buildings systems •Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times •Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the Contract Administrator •Undertake regular walk-rounds of client areas and plant rooms to note and rectify any defects •To monitor the buildings environmental temperature, humidity, and space conditions and ensuring that they are maintained in accordance with the business requirement •To monitor and adjust as deemed necessary, the building management systems (BMS) to control the buildings HVAC to optimal levels of efficiency. •Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times. •Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times. •Good technical knowledge of building services systems and plant. •Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance. •To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns. •To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training. •Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s. Candidate Attributes: •A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic Mathematics skills. •Formally trained in electrical/mechanical maintenance. •BMS Knowledge. •Essential experience required of maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria. •Aptitudes good verbal communication skills •Good written English skills •Character committed to the delivery of excellent customer service. •Calm manner, able to work under pressure. •Able to make sound decisions when needed. •Physically fit and able to carry tools and components by hand up to 20kg. •Able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment. •Able to work at heights. •Experience of working in a critical environment/data centre. •A team player, able to work with clients representatives at all levels. •Must be willing to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns. Remuneration Package Annual Basic Salary c£45,000 (subject to skills, qualifications and experience), 25 days Holidays, PPE, mobile phone, pension and healthcare.
