Position - Mobile Gas Engineer Location - South West Reporting to - Contract Manager Desired Experience & or Qualifications • Commercial & Domestic Gas qualifications • F Gas qualifications • City & Guilds Refrigerant Safe Handling • Plumbing qualification • Time served apprenticeship • A good knowledge of all building services • Sound level of administration and organisational skills • Minimum 2 years practical experience within the building industry • Full driving licence Typical Duties Our client is seeking a mobile gas engineer to cover across the south west region (primarily within EX, TA, BS, BA, CF & NP postcodes). The role will be responsible for reactive and PPM maintenance to commercial premises. Candidates should possess comprehensive technical skills along with extensive experience in commercial fault finding and rectification and should hold the following gas qualifications: o Comb analysis, gas boilers under and over 70kw, pipework, warm air, gas fires, range cookers, air heating, water CH, commercial and domestic gas qualifications o Excellent gas knowledge complete with an industry recognised qualification o COCN1 or CODNCO1 (Core Commercial Gas Safety) o CDGA1 (Commercial Direct Fired Heating Appliances) o CIGA1 (Commercial Indirect Fire Heating Appliances and Equipment) o CORT1 (Commercial Radiant Tube Heaters) o ICPN1 (First Fix Commercial Pipework) o TPCP1 (Tightness Testing and Purging to IGE/UP/1) o TPCP1A (Tightness Testing and Purging to IGE/UP/1A) o CCN1 or COCDN1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety o CENWAT (Domestic Central Heating/Water Heaters) o CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analyser) Candidate requirements/attributes: • Comprehensive knowledge, both domestic and commercial of most major manufactures i.e Valliant Powermatic, Riello Broag, Combat, Ambi-Rad, Ideal, Potterton, Nu Way and Worcester etc. • Good all round knowledge of heating systems, fixed electrical systems & controls/BMS. • Good plumbing skills. • Good interpersonal & communicating skills, flexible approach to work/Clients’ requirements. • Logical thinker in fault finding situations • Excellent interpersonal skills • Good written and verbal communication skills • Comfortable working within a team environment. Able to contribute to group success whilst willingly following instructions of others. • Able to work unsupervised • Self-motivated • Adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements, willing to accept change. • Customer focused • Willing to volunteer help Candidates should be prepared to work out of hours from time to time and participate in the callout rota. Good organisational skills and have a positive attitude are also essential. 40 hours per week Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00 with 1 in 4 callout (plus standby allowance). Unpaid 30 mins travel each way not included in hours worked. Remuneration Package Salary up to £38,000 (subject to skills, qualifications and experience), company vehicle. Callout 1 in 4 plus £105 standby allowance per week plus overtime (time & half weekdays and Saturdays, double time on Sundays/Bank holidays).
